I’m Kathy!

I went on my first camping trip at 8 months old. Growing up in California, I spent every summer camping in California and Oregon. I’ve travelled across the country, camping most of the way.

I’ve lived in New England since 1999 and am obsessed with hiking here. I completed the NH 48 (and got my patch!) and now I’m pursuing a few other lists, as well as repeating many summits accompanying friends as they earn their patches.

I’m an avid reader and researcher who loves to learn. (Ask me about my hiking book list!) Once I started hiking the 4000-footers in New Hampshire, I needed to know EVERYTHING about hiking. I reading everything I can get my hands on, books, articles, Reddit, Facebook, you name it. I’ve taken courses with the AMC. I’m Leave No Trace certified. I became a WMNF Volunteer Trailhead and Backcountry steward. I’m passionate about the outdoors and sharing that knowledge with others, which has led me to creating the Hiker Concierge!

I know people just want to get out there and hike! I created Hiker Concierge so I can do all of the planning and research for you, so you can go out and have a great hike!
